From July 15 to 16, 2025, our lab went on a two-day retreat to Lake Kawaguchiko.
Professors and students engaged in research progress presentations, study sessions, and lively discussions, creating a valuable opportunity to learn from one another.
Highlights included special talks by Professor Sekiguchi on “Applications of Symmetry and Group Theory to Color Centers” and by M1 student Goto on “Introduction to Quantum Transduction Theory.” Students also shared their research updates, which sparked meaningful conversations about the lab’s current work and future direction.
We also took time to enjoy the beautiful natural surroundings of Lake Kawaguchiko. Activities included hiking Mt. Tenjo, famous as the setting of Osamu Dazai’s Kachi-Kachi Yama (“Crackling Mountain”), riding swan boats on the lake, and relaxing in the footbath at Kawaguchiko Station. The retreat offered a refreshing break from our daily routines.
It was a meaningful and enjoyable two days, full of learning, shared experiences, and great conversations. The retreat also brought us closer together as a team and will help strengthen our collaboration for our future research.
