Swiss-Japanese Quantum Symposium 2024 Report

The Swiss-Japanese Quantum Symposium 2024, hosted from June 5-7 at the University of Tokyo, emerged as a pivotal event uniting top researchers, industry leaders, and government representatives to explore the forefront of quantum technology. Organized jointly by RIKEN and the Science and Technology Office Tokyo (STO), the Embassy of Switzerland in Japan, this symposium facilitated a dynamic exchange of ideas among approximately 185 participants, with around 20% international participants.

Professor Hideo Kosaka presented his session “Diamond Spin Qubits for Quantum C&C” on Friday, June 7, and captivated the audience with its innovative approach and potential implications.

Another significant highlight of this gathering was the inclusion of two poster sessions, where 38 contributors from diverse backgrounds showcased their research. The poster sessions at the symposium provided a dynamic platform for researchers at all stages of their careers.
Raustin Reyes (D3) presented his poster “Transfer and teleportation of the photon-polarization states towards the emission-absorption type quantum repeater” and was able to gain valuable insights from peers in this field.
